Ten years of pride, passion and partnership
When the oldest and most successful rugby team of the world and the largest sporting goods manufacturer prolong their 10 year lasting partnership, there is a lot to celebrate. It was our task to bring together the bottom line of team spirit, the values and the spirit of this sport with the modern approach to sports marketing. What evolved is a unique object which documents the last 10 years of the partnership with 15 original photo prints and a book with 120 pages. This all is packed in a box, which’s closure and design imitates the look and feel of a rugby ball, decorated with a traditional maori-tattoo image, exclusively drawn by a player of the rugby team. Inside, placed on 4 original adidas rugby-shoe studs, there is a list of the upper management team at adidas and the NZRU, etched on plexi. Each box is numbered and contains a personalised mouth guard for the individual recipient. The book is covered in t-shirt material and the motto of this partnership is flock-finished. Book and photos are held together by a rubber band – also an original part of a rugby shoe. This truly unique object was developed in close cooperation and partnership with “The Artbox-Collection, Berlin” and Richard Lange.

This unique art book edition was developed together with the design agency 20first and the artist Ralf Ziervogel. The object was supposed to come across like a monolith. The edition for the retail market was embossed on the narrow sides of the slip case. The art edition consisted of 25 slip cases, etched with our Paperlux etching to become a complete work of art when put together. This project was awarded the IF Communication Award 2009.

For the 43rd awards ceremony of the Golden Camera from HÖRZU on the 6th of February 2008 the publishing house Axel Springer assigned us with the revision, conception and production for the printed materials such as invitations, guestlists, programmes etc. The colours brown and gold were supplemented with a dark purple, and Goldie Hawns words from the year before last were always there with us: “My Herzele is pounding”.

The execution of a limited edition of notebooks for the sports and fashion company adidas International B.V.. offered a lot of space for an intuitive brand communication. The 3-stripes-symbolism was transferred into a “work-accessory” for the sales teams of the Foot-Locker branches throughout Europe.

This communication-package was inspired by mediterranean sandstone and architecture of Rome - and used for an incentive for partners of VW. Invitation, a “travel pack” which included ticket, luggage tag, city map and programme and a certificate were part of the package which accompanied an unforgettable trip to Rome.

For the opening of the first DIBBERN flagship store in Germany, in the heart of Hamburg, we adapted an architectural drawing for a fine screenprint, whereas the DIBBERN logo was additionally highlighted with a relief-lacquer.
The paper Sense was folded around a 700gr James Cropper carton, the envelopes were printed in offset.

For the Hamburg-based designer Sibilla Pavenstedt we created and produced her business stationary as well as a special box for accessories. The combination of slightly shiny fine paper and an ebony-coloured satin ribbon are visible throughout the elements of communication.

For a pitch presentation we teamed up with Marius Fahrner Design and Douglas Antonio and developed these 4 „concept-boxes“. Occasion: the development of a new luxury-retreat in Morocco. Each box contains a marketing idea – typo and all images are engraved, different materials were combined and also engraved – i.e. a mirrow or a slate tile. Each box makes you want to explore, encourages the senses and gives you the feeling of being at the right place.

In the masses of impulses through media, marketing, technology, there are only a few impulses which pervade our perception. They are either very aggressive or very very subtle. With our Paperlux GmbH we decided to go for remarkably subtle and fine brand design. Be it packaging, event communication or corporate design: we are out for creations and productions, which answer to the crux of the premium- and luxury segment by emphasizing and anchoring a brand message or image within split seconds without touching the exclusivity through loud design. Emotion and intuition make our solutions come to life. Perfection and our love for detail and processing form a finished product.
The heart of Paperlux is our very own, patented, sublimation process, which defines the borders of paper design in a completely new way. Paper etching any kind of image can be engraved on paper in an unbelievably delicate way, without hurting the back of the paper. Writing and images appear three dimensionally to hands and eyes. Next to the business domain Paperlux SURFACE which includes the sublimation process, we have the sector DESIGN and PRODUCTION with a network of creatives, strategists and premium-providers.
