In 2016 Palmato publishing was founded in Hamburg and asked us to create their Corporate Identity. In regard to content, their focus lies on Africa and Namibia especially, which the tiny Palmato gecko calls its home. He is also the model for the special »O« in the typeface: The gecko eye, that blinks whichever way you look at it – vertically or horizontally. Earthy colours and uncoated fine paper compliment the whole picture. Coming up with book covers that were not too cliché-ridden about Africa but still transported the right feeling proved to be challenging. We reckon, we managed to combine both the nativeness as well as the vibrancy on the covers of the Palmato books. Thus the publishing house is exactly like its namesake: small, but eye-catching.
